At 13205 NE 175th Street, the restored Old Woodinville School now has a mini golf course inside. Flatstick Pub held its grand opening there on Saturday, October 17, and describes the space as its largest location so far. It took over the 12,208-square-foot Schoolhouse District space that Walla Walla Steak Co. used to fill, 425 Business reported when the move was announced.
The timing matters because the Schoolhouse District is where Woodinville's holiday season does most of its work this year. The season has no single big night. It runs over several weekends, starting at a tasting-room courtyard in the Hollywood District in early November. On Winterfest Saturday it splits into four sites with staggered hours, and on a Sunday in mid-December it ends with lighted cars rolling down NE 175th Street. You get the most out of it if you plan the order you visit things in, more than the list of what to see.
November 7 Starts in the Hollywood District
The first date is Saturday, November 7, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., at Redwood Place, 14450 Woodinville Redmond Rd NE. Woodinville Wine Country lists the event as Sip & Shop and bills it as a harvest-season day of "sipping, shopping, and local finds in the heart of Woodinville's Hollywood District."
The October 22 version of the event listing offers $5 mini tastings at each participating tasting room. An earlier listing for the same day described the deal as 2-for-$5 tasting specials, so check the terms at the door. The tasting rooms taking part are:
- Milbrandt Vineyards, Ryan Patrick, Heritage and Sleight of Hand Cellars
- Darby Winery, Chandler Reach and Goose Ridge Estate Winery
- Airfield Estates and Village Wines
Market vendors set up around Redwood Place. The listing names Homegrown Floral, Ken Henke Imagery, Khobo Jerky, Norcino Salumi, Velle Candle Co, Onyx + Petal Skin Hair Body, NW Rock & Gem Club, Oil & Vinegar USA and Puffin Pottery, with more to come. There are also prize drawings and discounts from Redwood Place merchants.
The organizers pitch it as a head start on holiday shopping. It is also the only stop of the season in the Hollywood District. Every event after this one moves north toward downtown.
The Weeknight Wine Evenings in Between
Between Sip & Shop and Winterfest, the winery calendar shifts to ticketed evenings:
- Chateau Ste. Michelle hosts "Through the Decades: 30 Years of Artist Series" on November 14, 6 to 9 p.m., in the Manor House. Tickets are $300, or $240 for wine club members.
- Fidélitas holds a Holiday Library Showcase on November 19 and 20, 7 to 9 p.m., at its Woodinville tasting room, 14200 NE 145th St., Suite B. Tickets are $30.
Those two dates fill the quiet stretch in the middle of the season. The next big date brings the whole town out.
Saturday, December 5, Runs on Four Clocks
The 2026 schedule for Celebrate Woodinville Winterfest has three afternoon programs in three places, plus a morning race at a fourth, and their hours only partly overlap.
| Site | Hours | What is scheduled |
|---|---|---|
| Wilmot Gateway Park | 8:30 to 11 a.m. | Winterfest 5K packet pickup at 8:30, race at 9:30, finisher celebration 10 to 11 |
| Woodin Creek Village | 1 to 6 p.m. | Horse and carriage rides, petting zoo, face painting, balloon twisters, photo booth, live music |
| The Schoolhouse District | 1 to 6:30 p.m. | Farmers market 1 to 5, Winter Wonderland 2 to 4, s'mores at fire pits, Candy Cane Hunt at 6:30 |
| DeYoung Park | 3 to 6 p.m. | Pictures with Santa, wreath- and ornament-making, holiday treats, local school performances, tree lighting at 5:30 |
The table shows the shape of the day. Woodin Creek Village opens at 1 p.m., the earliest of the afternoon sites. DeYoung Park doesn't start until 3, and its big moment comes at 5:30. The Schoolhouse District runs before, during and after both, with the farmers market opening at 1 and the Candy Cane Hunt closing the day at 6:30. That makes the Schoolhouse District the natural base for the afternoon, and Flatstick's opening means it now has one more indoor room open throughout.
Here is a sequence that fits the published hours:
- Start at Woodin Creek Village around 1 p.m., while the carriage rides and petting zoo are running and the farmers market is open down the road.
- Go to the Schoolhouse District in time for Winter Wonderland, which ends at 4.
- Get to DeYoung Park, 13680 NE 175th Street, before 5:30 for the tree lighting.
- Head back to the Schoolhouse District for the 6:30 Candy Cane Hunt, then stay for dinner.
The toy drive for the Forgotten Children's Fund collects at the Woodinville Chamber booth, so bring a gift with you. The City of Woodinville's calendar also lists a Community Conversations session at DeYoung Park from 3 to 6 p.m. that day, with a note inviting people to join it at Winterfest.
The Schoolhouse District also hosts a Holiday Breakfast, with registration through the Seattle YMCA, and the Winterfest page has the details. The 5K's early-bird pricing runs through November 16. Entry is $35 for runners 16 and older and $20 for 15 and under. After that it rises to $45 and $35.
The Holiday Fair page doesn't list an admission price or a parking plan for the day. Celebrate Woodinville's general guidance for downtown events points visitors to the Sports Field lot or street parking and mentions a complimentary shuttle. Check closer to the date for anything specific to Winterfest.
Where to Land Between Stops
Each Winterfest site is built into a district with places to sit down, and the current directories cover most of what you'd need between stops.
In the Schoolhouse District, the listed dining spots are Ballard Pizza Co. and Jackson House. For something sweet there are SheChill Patisserie and Sip & Scoop, and for a drink there are L'Ecole, McQueen Champagne Bar and Pour Decisions Taphouse. Flatstick Pub fills the old school building itself. The district's own website may still say "coming soon," but the pub is open now. At the grand opening, Flatstick offered unlimited mini golf, Duffleboard and Pop-A-Shot for $10 all day. That was opening-day pricing, so check current rates before you go.
At Woodin Creek Village, the directory lists Sidekick Coffee for the early start and Rusty Pelican Café and Woodin Creek Kitchen & Tap for a meal. There's also Swanky Scoop, and Brix Wine Café, which the directory notes moved over from Juanita. The tasting rooms there include Alexandria Nicole Cellars, Brian Carter Cellars, Bayernmoor Cellars, Baer Winery, Rooted Souls Wine, Truthteller Winery and Tsillan Cellars. Woodinville Wine Country's visitor center and gift shop is on Village Square Drive too.
Woodin Creek Village and the Schoolhouse District come back into play the following weekend, as the two ends of the parade route.
December 13 Ends on 175th Street
The season's last big date is a Sunday. The 10th annual Woodinville Car Parade & Festival, now part of the Winterfest series, starts at 6 p.m. on December 13. The lighted cars set off through Woodin Creek Village, travel down NE 175th Street and end at TRF, by Haggen and Red Robin. A festival runs there from 6 to 8 p.m. with hundreds of lighted cars on display, plus crafts and sponsor giveaways.
The parade page names two places to watch, along 135th Ave NE at Woodin Creek Village and downtown along NE 175th St. It lists parking at Woodin Creek Village, District Flats, Eastrail Flats and TRF. Eastrail Flats is a mixed-use apartment building near the Schoolhouse District.
That Sunday has two afternoon options before the cars start. The Woodinville Heritage Society holds a free Holiday Open House at the Woodinville Heritage Museum on Northeast 171st Street from 1 to 4 p.m. Chateau Ste. Michelle runs a Holiday Cookie Decorating Class in its theater from 1 to 4 p.m. for $65. Either one ends with time to spare before the 6 p.m. start.
